Bright Coloured Bridal Bouquets

It was recently pointed out to me that a signature feature of my work is that my designs are often colourful! Well I must admit, from my floristry training days I've always been a big fan of bright vibrant colours such as bright pinks, purples and reds. Used as a dominant flower colour in a wedding - it can really make a bold statement. Many brides also ask me to tie in their chosen dress colour into the bouquet design, so I often suggest a hint of this to break up the boldness. Here are three examples of my colourful bridal designs of 2012.
If it's a modern, bright and cheerful look you're aiming for, then Germinis are perfect. Mixed with Roses in a hand tied bridal bouquet, they create a beautiful compact design. Germinis are the favourite flower of my July bride Natalie, who married Jamie at Hazelwood Castle, Tadcaster. She wanted these to be the predominant flower in her bouquet along with beautiful ivory Roses. To make this unique and extra special for Natalie, I used looped grasses throughout, along with groupings of Swarovski crystals, see the result in the first picture below.
My April bride Hannah married at the beautiful Wentbridge House Hotel, Pontefract. With her brief/instructions to me being 'I just love pink roses - use lots!' After brainstorming further with Hannah, she decided upon 2 shades of pinks (one being really vibrant pink - one paler) along with a gorgeous Ivory 'Dolomiti' Rose to match her dress colour. She requested these colours and flowers because her 'husband to be' had recently bought her a gift bouquet with them in, and she absolutely adored them! I then did my research to find an ultra bright pink Rose and came across the adorable vibrant 'Purple Power' Rose. To date, this is perhaps my favourite pink Rose as the scent is just heavenly and it filled the reception room with a gorgeous sweet scent. Hannah said to me afterwards that she loved her bouquet so much that she didn't want to put it down all day (see second pic below)!
The colour theme of purple was chosen by my June bride Vicky, who married John at The Chevin Country Park Hotel, Otley. Vicky requested that I also use shades of lilac in her bouquet and she gave me magazine pictures of bouquets she liked for me to gain inspiration from. Receiving pictures and ideas like this from brides really helps me in the design process so I can create something which is completely individual to them. To add elegance to Vickys bouquet, I suggested using varying tones of pink/purple delicate Phalaenopsis Orchids placed in and amongst Eustoma, Roses, Freesia and a little Eucalyptus. I also added diamanté and pearl flower shaped clusters, to match the delicate detailing on her wedding dress. Am sure you'll agree that this bright bouquet is pretty unique and special!
So if you're thinking about having a bold and bright bridal bouquet, there are so many wonderful colourful flowers to choose from. Do get in touch and it would be my pleasure to advise you!
